Small Bore Rifle

The club aims to provide tuition and practice for all types of shooting in friendly and controlled environments. The newly completed range at Shoreditch provides an excellent venue for Small Bore Rifle, Carbines and Black Powder Pistols.

Small Bore Rifle shooting consists mainly of the tradition 'Prone Position' & 'Ten Spot' target, whilst a competition in it's own right - and highly demanding, it also provides valuable practice for Full Bore Target Shooting.

For those members who prefer the challenge of 'hand-eye' co-ordination along with timed intervals, Carbine Rifle provides just that mix. Underlever carbine rifles are used in conjunction with turning targets to produce the 'Police' and 'Service' rifle disciplines, and ultimately, a severe test of marksmanship.

The club also caters for Black Powder pistols and has spent a large sum of money on ensuring that the smoke produced by these firearms extracted from the range. Both revolver and single shot pistols are used, with both having specific disciplines tailored to suit.

For those members wishing for a little less noise and recoil, Airsoft is also shot at our indoor range.
We aim to provide realistic senarios in many types of situation; fire with movement, turning targets, close protection and hostage rescue drills. All based on techniques and training learned over many years of Pratical Pistol.
We are also able to supply training in "gun handling" for TV and Film work as well as team building events.

What is Airsoft ?
"The acting out of military or law-enforcement scenarios for the purposes of recreation"
Airsoft guns fire 6mm plastic pellets (or BBs) at low speeds (between 100 and 300 feet per second or 30 to 90 meters per second), fast enough to feel, but slow enough not to hurt. The equipment is realistic, as all the guns are based on the real thing, you can have a Glock, an anti-terrorist H&K MP5 (as used by our own armed police) or even an M16 (as used by the US Army).

For Full Bore Target Rifle shooting, members of the club travel to The National Rifle Association ranges at Bisley (Surrey), were distances up to 1100 yards can be shot, although the clubs more normal (and competition) distances are 300 and 600 yards.

Bisley can also provide facilities for shotgun, the National Clay Shooting Centre provide all forms of 'trap' shooting whilst the Bisley Gun Club can offer competitively priced 'practice' for DTL shooters. An well maintained and varied 'Sporting' layout is offered by Bisley Shooting Ground. A variety of other 'Sporting' layouts are visited by members of this club on a regular basis.
