Why Small-Bore Rifle Shooting?
Small-bore rifle target shooting - how hard can it
be - after all you don't have the heavens opening up on you, no crosswinds to contend
with, no flinch inducing blasts and recoil. There you are lying indoors on a comfy mat
aiming at a well-lit static target with as much time as you want - doesn't sound like much
of a challenge does it?
I like S/B target shooting precisely because of the
reasons above and the challenge that comes from trying to be consistently good at it.
You will not experience an adrenaline rush during S/B target shooting (unless you are
very easily excited) but you will feel a sense of achievement as your scores improve
knowing that you've had to deploy and develop various skills such as breathing control,
concentration and a calm mental approach, all of which can also help in other forms of
shooting.
Sounds Worthy But Is It Fun?
Yes!
We run various competitions, leagues and an annual championship. We have
taken part in postal leagues and have even been known to compete against other clubs.
I'd Like To Have A Go But I'd Never Win Anything
Not true.
We run a handicap league were an individuals improvement is measured not their absolute
prowess with a shooting iron.
When And Where?
Mondays, Thursdays and Saturdays. The range is
located in Shoreditch, about 10 minutes walk from Liverpool Street station.
What's It Gonna Cost Guv?
Virtually nothing.
.22 rimfire ammunition is very cheap and all the necessary equipment is
supplied by the club.
What Do I Do Next?
I'd have a cup of tea if I were you and then
contact the Membership Secretary.
