Full Bore Rifle

The Full Bore Rifle competition is shot a two distances (300 and 600 yards) the winner being the shooter who achieves the best combined score.
Time time allowed to complete the course of fire is 25 minutes, which includes the laying out of your equipment, setting the scope and adjusting your position - you must leave the firing point 25 minutes after your detail starts - whether you are finished or not.
The course of fire (at each distance) is :- 2 Sighters plus 15 to count.
Both sighters can be converted to counting shots if the shooter wishes.
The course of fire is as follows:-
The shooter fires 1 shot at the target.
The marker will ask the shooter if he/she wishes to convert.
If 'Yes' the shooter fires 14 more counting shots, making a total of 15 to count.
If 'No' the shooter fires a second shot.
The marker will ask the shooter if he/she wishes to convert.
If 'Yes' the shooter fires 14 more counting shots, making a total of 15 to count.
If 'No' the shooter fires 15 more counting shots. The original first 2 shots become 'sighters' and therefore do not count towards the scoring total.
All ammunition is supplied free, but competitors may use their own 'commercially available' ammunition if they choose.
Rifles used must conform to National Rifle Association regulations governing 'Target Rifles'
Scoring
Placings in both competitions will be determined by the highest score being awarded 1st place; the next highest 2nd place and so on.
Ties will be determined on a countback from the amount of 'V bulls', 5's, 4's etc. gained.
A shoot-of for 1st place only, (in each competition) will take place between the tying competitors if a countback fails to determine the winner.
The shoot-off will consist of one shot from each tying competitor, the highest scoring being deemed the winner.
If the highest scores are tied after the first shoot-off, lower scoring competitors will drop out and further shoot-offs by those still tying will take place until an eventual winner (with the single highest score in that round) is arrived at.
Appeals on any aspect of the shoot not governed by these rules must be made immediately to the Range Conducting Officer (RCO).
The Range Conducting Officer (RCO) will have total discretion in all matters relating to the competition procedures, except scoring disputes.
Appeals will be settled on the day (if possible) by the RCO's in consultation with nominated committee members.
